Ikshaa or ’sight’ in Sanskrit is a
harmonious blend of Portuguese villa and nineteenth
century Goan mansion. The villa has the comforts of modern living
combined with the charm of the Goa of yesteryears,
down to the little recesses in the walls for the old ponttios or
paraffin lamps. Ikshaa sits snuggled in a valley,
smoke drifts lazily from chimneys, birds twitter, bakers and fish
vendors do their rounds on bicycles, women still draw water from
wells, men trade fishing yarns in the local chai shop. Each of the
three bedrooms is tastefully and artistically appointed with furniture
and fabrics of India whilst the bathrooms are large and aesthetically
pleasing. The 12 meter pool, adjacent to the lounge, makes an ideal
spot for cocktail conversation.Discreet staff are always on hand
to cater to your every requirement and the chef’s superb Goan
cooking is a must.
